The squads of the class football teams held their regular practice yesterday afternoon. The Juniors spent some time in punting and running down under kicks, after which there was a long signal practice. The men were tried in various positions and an attempt was made to pick the best men for the game with the Seniors tomorrow. The squad was coached by C. H. Robinson '04.
The Seniors practiced kicking and running with the ball, and several of the men were tried in drop-kicking goals from the field. The men lined up for short signal practice and then played a game with the Sophomores.
The 1905 team has been considerably strengthened in the line during the past few days and the men have shown much improvement. The squad practiced the elementary points of the game and after a short line-up for signal practice an eleven was picked to play the Seniors. The Seniors were defeated by a score of 5 to 0 in a loosely played game. The Senior and Sophomore teams were coached by R. Derby '03 and R. E. Sard '05, respectively.
Although marred by frequent fumbling, the work of the Freshman eleven yesterday showed good snap and spirit, both on offense and defense. The formation plays were run smoothly for the first time, and were used against the second for long gains. The line, while still lacking in aggressiveness, showed more power and lift than hitherto, and proved fairly successful in checking the second's attack.
