The first secret practice yesterday brought out several changes in the line-up of the University football team. Crocker was tried at right end, Noyes at quarterback, Sugden at centre, Lindsay played in the scrimmage for the first time for over a week and Putnam was given his first opportunity on the University eleven and went in at right half-back. Kernan, Graydon, and the other regular men, though not injured, were allowed to rest from the effects of the game on Saturday. Foster's knee has recovered and he played for a few minutes at right halfback on the second team.

The signal practice was longer than usual and was taken up largely in going through formation plays. In the preliminary work, the whole team was coached by W. H. Lewis '95 and Kernan in tackling the dummy, after which the squad was divided and given practice in punting, running down under kicks, and in, breaking through. The following coaches were out: F. D. The work on the whole was light and at times fairly good: The regular line-up against the second team lasted only-four minutes. The second eleven kicked off to the fifteen yard line from where, by using Knowlton in formation plays, the first team forced the ball back to the centre of the field. Knowles made a 15 yard run around right end but otherwise the gains were short and no touchdown was made. The line-ups: FIRST ELEVEN.  SECOND ELEVEN.
