The fact that Harvard's first game in the Intercollegiate Basketball League, with Cornell, will be played tomorrow night, makes it interesting to note the progress of the teams in the league.

Up to the present time the game with Tufts is the only one that Harvard has played. The team has been practicing since the Christmas recess; and has developed creditable speed and team play. The goal throwing is still inaccurate, and the defensive play is not as strong as it should be. The seventeen men who have been retained on the squad are being coached by J. K. Clark 3L.

Cornell has to all appearances a good team. The passing is fast and accurate, and the team work well developed. The team began practice earlier in the season than Harvard, and has already played several games.

The Yale team has had more practice this year than any other in the League. On the western trip during the Christmas recess Yale played eight games, in which the team was defeated by but one college, the University of Minnesota. Since its return the team has played several games, and will enter the league matches with the advantage of considerable experience.

Princeton is paying more than usual attention to basketball this winter. A. W. Enderbrock, centre on the Trenton National League team, has been engaged to coach the team for the rest of the year; and as a result of hard practice and frequent games the team is improving steadily.

At Columbia basketball practice began early in November. The team has played only a few games, however, and is made up of practically new material.
