Laurence Hayward, who will give the Latin Salutatory "De Re Publica Amplificanda," lives in Marlborough, Massachusetts, where he prepared at the high school for Harvard. He has received Second Year and final Honors in the Classics.
Sanford Henry Eisner Freund, of New York City, will speak on "My Lord Jeffreys Tries a Case." He prepared at Andover, graduating with the class of '97. Since entering College he has received High Second Year and Highest Final Honors in History. He completed his course for Bachelor of Arts in three years and secured leave of absence for the past year, during which he has been registered in the Law School. He will receive his degree summa cum laude. He is recording secretary of the Phi Beta Kappa Society.
Samuel Smith Drury of Bristol, Rhode Island, prepared at the Roxbury Latin School. While in College he has taught at the Prospect Union. He will teach next year at Pomiret School. The subject of his part is "Biology in Modern Poetry."
Herbert Claude Kahn of Indianapolis, Indiana, will represent the Law School at Commencement. His subject will be "The Doctrine of Judicial Precedents at the Common Law." Kahn prepared at the Shortridge High School Indianapolis, and entered Indiana University, where he secured his A. B. degree in two years. He entered the Senior class at Harvard in 1897, in which year he won first prize in the Boylston Prize Speaking. During his Law School course he maintained the honor standing necessary for a Commencement part.
