Time Row Yesterday.

Yesterday the University crews rowed over the three and three-eights miles course from the Weld Boat Club to the Union Boat House. As Mr. Storrow did not wish the crews to race, he gave the second crew a start of over a minute, a lead which made racing out of the question. As this was the first time row in which H. Bancroft has stroked the crew, he was watched with great interest. The crew did well, keeping the stroke long and hard, and, considering the rough water in the basin, made very good time. The men were examined before and after the row by Dr. Darling. They were all brought back in the launch.

Their order yesterday was:

First--Stroke, H. Bancroft; 7, Ayer; 6, Bullard; 5, Lawrence; 4, Shuebruk; 3, Emory; 2, G. Bancroft; bow, Goodell.

Second--Stroke, McGrew, 7, Loud; 6, James; 5, Henderson; 4, McConnell; 3, Francis; 2, Blake; bow, Snite.
