Time Row Yesterday.

The University crews had their second time row of the season yesterday. Bullard stroked one boat and Brownell the other, G. Bancroft taking his brother's place at 6 in Brownell's boat. A strong head wind was blowing down the basin, but the rain beat the waves down, so that the crews could row with little difficulty. Brownell's boat received a start of eleven seconds and held its advantage till after passing the Longwood bridge. Then, in the stretch to Harvard bridge, Bullard's boat, rowing a slow, strong stroke, gradually pulled down the other's lead till at the bridge it was even with the other beat. From here to the finish, Bullard's crew pulled away from the other in spite of Brownell's constant spurts, and won by about three lengths. The crews were then taken into the launch, which returned up stream towing the shells. Mr. E. C. Storrow '89, Mr. G. S. Mumford '87, Mr. R. Bullard '96, C. M. Sheafe 3L., and H. Bancroft 3L. were on the launch. The two crews rowed in the following order:

Stroke, Bullard; 7, Ayer; 6, McGrew; 5, Loud; 4, Shuebruk; 3, Emory; 2, Blake; bow, Goodell.

Stroke, Brownell; 7, Lawrence; 6, G. Bancroft; 5, Henderson; 4, McConnell; 3, Francis; 2, James; bow, Snite.
