Baseball Practice.

The members of the University baseball squad are working hard and showing excellent spirit in their daily practice, but are not paying enough attention to individual faults. The special aim of the practice at present is to develop speed and certainty in handling the ball. Sliding is practiced every other day, alternating with base-running. Hamilton is regularly coaching this work, Lewis coming out every day to coach the pitchers.

Twelve men were dropped yesterday from the general squad, four from the battery squad, and ten from the Freshman. There will probably be a reduction in the squads each week until the number of candidates is materially reduced. About twenty-five men are now practicing in the general squad and about forty in the Freshman. H. W. Keene '01 has been appointed to coach the Freshmen as long as the indoor work continues.
