Yale Notes.

Sixty-three men have answered the call for candidates for the Yale baseball team. There are about an equal number for the infield and outfield, and ten men for battery positions. Of the team and substitutes last year the following men are still in college. F. C. Robertson '01, A. M. Hirsh '01, A. H. Sharpe '02 M.S., R. G. Guernsey '02, G. B. Ward '02, C. P. Cook '01 S., and W. A. Blount '03.

At a recent meeting of the Phi Beta Kappa, the following graduate officers were elected: President, Professor T. Peck; vice-president, Professor B. Perrin; secretary, Dr. A. Van Name; treasurer, Mr. J. S. Smith; for graduate committee, Professor Seymour, Professor Phelps and Dr. Reed. That part of the constitution relating to eligibility for membership was amended to read thus: "The Society shall elect as members all men who have attained a Philosophical Oration stand in the work of freshman and sophomore years together, and as many more as shall bring the number up to thirty in the order of their standing for freshman and sophomore years."

The Yale News has elected the following men to its editorial board: K. D. Clark '03, J. K. Nichols '03, J. D. Van Dyke '03, L. Mason '04, T. D. Thacher '04, J. H. Williams, Jr., '04. For the editorial year 1901-1902 the "News" will be controlled by the board of editors from 1902, composed of the following: W. E. Day, chairman; G. B. Carpenter, business manager; J. Wright, assignment editor; L. B. Beckwith; H. W. Hamlin; N. H. Mason; P. McL. Merrill; L. S. Spitzer; H. A. Wissell, Jr.

Princeton has chosen the negative side of the subject for the Yale-Princeton debate on March 27.
