Secretary Long has asked authority from the United States Senate to give to the University the flags and the loving cup which were presented to the cruiser "Harvard" by Harvard graduates.
The final round of the chess tournament will be held about December 10. The result of this match will determine the make-up of the team to compete in the intercollegiate chess tournament.
The new ice plant in Memorial Hall has just been put into operation, and from now on will supply all the ice used there. The plant has a capacity of 6,000 pounds a day, and has cost about $10,000.
Mr. C. T. Copeland will give a series of six lectures in February or March, for the benefit of the Prospect Union. He will speak on the English poets, principally those of the nineteenth century.
The Intercollegiate Athletic Association is having a trophy made, emblematic of Harvard's championship in the intercollegiate meet last spring. It will be a banner with a Harvard and an American flag crossed, with lettering of gold. The Association provides an annual fund of fifty dollars for the purpose.
