PASTEUR MEDAL DEBATE.

Juniors Defeat the Sophomores--Pasteur Medal Awarded to A. Black '03.

The final interclass debate last night between the Juniors and Sophomores for the class championship was won by the Juniors, who supported the negative side of the question: "Resolved, That the present form of parliamentary government in France is better suited to insure the political welfare of the French people than a presidential system such as exists in the United States."

The Pasteur Medal was awarded to A. Black of the Junior team.

R. C. Bruce '02, presided, and Mr. R. C. Surbridge '89, Mr. C. H. C. Wright '91, and Mr. H. B. Huntington '97 served as judges, rendering a unanimous decision in both cases. Dean Briggs was unable to serve as a judge because of a previous engagement.

At a public meeting after the Christmas recess the Surbridge Debating Cups will be presented to the members of the Junior team and the Pasteur Medal to A. Black.

The Junior team was composed of the following men: O. J. Campbell, G. W. Hinkley and A. Black.
