The New Catalogue.

The University Catalogue for 1901-02 will be put on sale today. In its general form it is very similar to last year's catalogue, and contains 713 pages, a decrease of 21 pages from last year, due chiefly to the omission of the Veterinary School, which is no longer a part of the University. The price of the Catalogue is 50 cents.

There are, as usual, four main divisions, containing respectively the list of officers and students, information concerning the University in all its departments, information about Radcliffe College, and a directory and index.

In the second division the following facts are of interest. All the examinations for admission to the College and the Lawrence Scientific School, beginning in 1902, will be under one method, and 23 points, instead of 21, will be required for admission to the Lawrence Scientific School. A fee of five dollars will be charged all those taking entrance examinations, whether in Cambridge or elsewhere.

The requirement for final honors in Sanskrit have been changed as follows: second year honors in Classics are not required; but instead, a knowledge of Greek equal to that necessary to pass the entrance examination in advanced Greek, and the examination in one elective course in addition. The candidate must also show a reading knowledge of Latin, German and French, and must have taken the equivalent of five courses in Indo-Iranian languages.

A travelling fellowship in Botany, instituted in 1900 by the Corporation, has not been renewed.

Six scholarships with an income of $200 each have been founded by a bequest of $30,000, received in 1901 from Mr. C. L. Jones of Cambridge. They are known as the C. L. Jones Scholarships; and are intended for six undergraduates, selected by the Corporation.

The following regulation as to graduation fee, previously announced, goes into effect this year: "A fee of twenty dollars will be charged all students taking the degree of Ph.D., S.D., A.M., or S.M.; and those taking the degree of A.B. or S.B. in one, two or three years.
