Following are the winners in the preliminary round of the chess tournament, which was finished yesterday: Section I--L. P. Carr '04, A. E. Goddard '04; section II-- P. Adams '03, R. A. Blakemore '04; section III--P. W. Bridgman '04, A. W. Belcher 04; section IV--H. B. Cleworth '05, G. E. Hyde '04; section V--A. E. Buck 1G., C. F. Vander Voort 1L.; section VI--undecided because of a tie.
The drawings for the semi-final round are as follows: Section I, Carr, Adams, Belcher, Cleworth, Buck, and the second man from section VI; section II, Goddard, Blakemore, Bridgman, Hyde, Vander Voort, and the first man from section VI. The three men in each section making the best scores will enter the final round. All games must be finished by Saturday, November 16.
