Golf Championship.

A. M. Brown '03 won the University golf championship yesterday afternoon on the links of the Braeburn Golf Club, defeating A. P. Thornton '03 by 4 up and 3 to play.

The scores made by both men were extremely good considering the weather conditions, which were most unfavorable. A high wind blew across the course throughout the match, and this, with a slight fall of snow, made accurate playing impossible.

Going out, Brown won the first hole in 5, Thornton taking the next. The third, fourth and fifth went to Brown and the next four were halved, making Brown 3 up at the turn.

Coming in, the tenth was halved in 5, and Brown won the next two, making him 5 up and 6 to play. On the twelfth hole Brown's drive stopped within an inch of the cup, giving him an easy 2. The thirteenth was halved. Thornton won the fourteenth and Brown halved the fifteenth on a thirty foot put, winning the match by 4 up and 3 to play.

A gold medal will be awarded to the winner and a silver one to the runner-up.
