The practice yesterday was encouraging. The line played a little high, but with good spirit, and the running of end plays was much smoother than it has been. Although the back-field showed improvement in getting into the plays, there was still too much fumbling. The backs were surer in catching punts, but there was room for considerable improvement. The coaches consider the handling of punts a critical point, and the backs are given practice in this every morning.

Kernan, Cutts and Ristine rested yesterday and took part in the signal work only. Matthews was again tried at end on the second and did good work. Putnam was out and took part in the line-up. Dean, Wrightington, Lewis, Murchie, Knox and J. Lawrence were out in football clothes and coached. Waters, Cabot and Cranston assisted in the coaching.

The second eleven kicked off over the goal line and Meier then punted back to the middle of the field, where the second lost the ball on a fumble. On line plays and end runs the first scored a touchdown. Meier carrying the ball over, helped along by Derby. The punt-out was a failure. The second then kicked to the 5 yard line to Graydon, who advanced the ball 15 yards. After two long end runs Graydon scored the second touchdown. No goal was tried. The second then took the ball on the first's 25 yard line where the first held them three times. The second advanced twice, however, through interference by the first, but the first held for downs and rushed the ball back to the 50 yard line, where Meier fumbled. King got the ball but the second lost it on downs. From this point the first scored the third touchdown in eight plays. The two elevens then played a punting game. The first eleven kicked off and the second returned the kick. After another exchange of punts, Lee blocked the kick and got the ball on the second's 45 yard line. Meier punted to the second's 2 yard line and on the next play Campbell broke through and blocked the kick, Lawrence falling on the ball for the fourth touchdown.
