LIGHT PRACTICE.

Men who Played Saturday in Good Shape. Second Scores on Substitutes.

The men who played in the game with Pennsylvania did light work yesterday. With the exception of Putnam, all were out in football clothes. The men are in good shape and do not show any bad effects from the Pennsylvania game. Putnam's injury is only slight--a bruised shin. Devens and Kernan are now in good shape and will be able to play in the Dartmouth game. McGrew's knee is improving and Roberts is getting into condition again.

About 40 minutes of preliminary work was done, particular attention being given to punting and the receiving of kicks. In punting, Meier showed up well. After short signal practice the first eleven took a short run and then went off the field.

After the first eleven had left, the substitutes lined up against the second. In this line-up the substitutes scored twice and the second once. Matthews, who has been playing at quarterback so far this season, was tried at end, his position at Andover, and Force, who has been playing guard, was given a trial at centre.

The second kicked off to the substitutes, who, by line plays and a 30 yard run by Knowles, brought the ball to the 20 yard line, and after a series of line plays Meier carried it over for a touchdown. No attempt was made to kick goal. The second took the ball in the middle of the field but could make little headway against the substitutes, who soon secured the ball on a fumble and by steady gains through the line scored another touchdown, Meier carrying the ball over. No goal was kicked. The second again took the ball in the middle of the field. On a 30 yard run by Kent and several line plays the second scored on the substitutes, Dodge carrying the ball across the line.
