The matches played yesterday in the preliminary round of the University golf tournament resulted as follows:
F. Appleton '03 beat C. Hutchins '05, 4 up and 3 to play.
W. E. Egan '05 beat R. T. Manning '04, 6 up and 4 to play.
B. Tower '05 beat A. Thur ton '03, 1 up (19 holes).
The following matches are to be played today:
P. A. Proal vs. C. R. Wait, J. G. Averell vs. E. Bell, H. H. Berry vs. C. J. Hambleton; H. D. Grinnell vs. A. P. Thornton, K. Smith vs. M. Tilden, H. R. Sedgwick vs. H. Burnet, J. M. Richards vs. C. Church, W. P. Sayre vs. R. Rivers, H. C. Ingram vs. F. Wallace.
Players should leave the square not later than 1.30, in order to catch either the 1.55 or 2.10 car from Newton.
The results of the matches should be recorded without fail at the CRIMSON office before 7.30 on the day of play. No postponements will be allowed, except on account of bad weather.
