The Freshman practice yesterday was a decided improvement over the playing in Saturday's game. In the long signal practice which preceded the line-up the plays were executed with snap and accuracy. In the twenty minutes of actual play between the first and second elevens the men played hard and aggressively, and the first team scored three times on the second.
On the offensive the backs of the first team started more quickly than in the game on Saturday, and the interference formed more effectively, especially on kicks. The team work, however, was still rather loose, as several of the regular players were not in the game. Elkins and Hurley both made long runs with the ball on straight line plays.
On the defensive the main defect was the slowness of the ends in getting down the field under punts. Aside from this, the defense was strong, and the second was able to make almost no gains.
