Intercollegiate Geological Excursion.

The intercollegiate geological excursion to Westfield, Mass., last Saturday proved successful. It was attended by forty-six teachers and students from twelve institutions, including Harvard, Yale, Amherst, Williams, and Wesleyan. The day was spent under the leadership of Professor Davis in studying the terraces of the Westfield Valley and the influences of rock ledges in their development. It is proposed to make another joint excursion next year under direction of Professor Emerson of Amherst, probably on the trap ridges near Amherst.
