At the Newell Boat Club yesterday many temporary changes were made in the orders of the graded crews, and on account of the number of absences, the first did not row at all. The Newell Freshmen begin work today.
At the Weld the thirty-two Freshmen that reported for fall rowing were divided into three eights and two four-oars. They went out on the river for a short time, in barges, and were coached by Wray, from a single. R. S. Francis '02 has been put in charge of the Freshmen at the Weld. The orders of the crews are as follows:
First Weld Freshman.--Stroke, Lewis; 7, McLeod; 6, Abbot; 5, Davis; 4, Hayes; 3, Johnson; 2, Henneberger; bow, Lincoln.
Second Weld Freshman. --Stroke, Brooks; 7, Swope; 6, Hill; 5, Ober; 4, White; 3, R. D. Kernan; 2, H.D. Kernan; bow, Jorelemen.
Third Weld Freshman.--Stroke, Snow; 7, Tilden; 6, Morgan; 5, Fitz; 4, Parker; 3, Williams; 2, Thompson; bow, McCall.
First Four Oar. --Stroke, Block; 3, Johnson; 2, Wie; bow, Merrill.
Second Four-Oar.--Stroke, Brooks; 3, Denning; 2, Cloud; bow, Mills.
The graded crews went out from the Weld, as usual, and were coached by Wray from the John Harvard.
