The Massachusetts Institute of Technology has opened for its thirty-sixth year with the largest entering class yet recorded.
The annual fall tennis tournament at Princeton was begun Tuesday. Forty six men in all took part and from these will be picked the team for the intercollegiate contest.
The Princeton Athletic Association is planning to build a number of permanent grand stands to accommodate the crowds at the large games. It is hoped that the work will be completed in time for the Cornell and Yale games.
New floats and run-ways with circular platforms to render the step between the run-ways and floats easier for men carrying shells are in course of construction at the Weld Boat Club. One of them is already completed so that there will be none of the difficulty this fall that was occasioned by the high water last spring.
