Yale and Princeton Baseball.

Last week the Yale nine defeated Andover at Andover by 6 to 0, and lost to Brown at Providence by 6 to 7. The game schedule with Dartmouth for Wednesday was prevented by rain. Yale made only six hits off Stevens of Andover and was shut out in seven innings. The outfield played well and Camp and Quinby did good work in the infield. Guernsey, who played third base on account of a slight injury to Brown, was not satisfactory. Cook pitched his first game this season and allowed Andover only two hits. The Brown game was a tie until the fourteenth inning, when Captain Clark made a home run. Every man on the Yale team hit safely, but in the field eight errors were made. Brown, who was back at third, and Quinby did the best work for Yale. Robertson pitched well and showed great steadiness with men on bases.

Princeton played but one game during the past week, as the Lafayette game scheduled for Wednesday was prevented by rain. The team defeated Georgetown in the last of a series of three games by a score of 12 to 4. The fielding on both sides was very poor. Princeton's batting was not strong, and the victory was due mainly to the pitching of Hillebrand, who held Georgetown down to four hits.
