The candidates for the lacrosse team have now been working in the Cage at Soldiers Field and in the Gymnasium for nearly a month. While it is impossible to form any exact estimate of the ability of the men until out-door practice begins, their form was improved materially of late. The number of men trying for the team has been reduced to thirty, of whom eight are experienced players. The Athletic Committee has promised the use of the football grounds on Soldiers Field on the first of April. As the first intercollegiate game, that with Pennsylvania comes on May 5, this will give plenty of time for developing a strong team. As previously announced, the schedule includes only four games, but if the team is successful others can be arranged with Johns Hopkins University and Toronto University for the latter part of May and early June.
