A team chosen from the Junior Wranglers was defeated by Holy Cross at Worcester last night. The question was the same as that debated between Harvard and Yale, "Resolved, That the retention of the Philippine Islands by the United States is desirable." The Juniors supported the affirmative. The Harvard speakers, A. Friedman, E. H. Letchworth and E. E. Smith based their arguments on three points: that the retention of the islands would be beneficial to the Filipinos, to the United States, and to the world at large. The Holy Cross speakers, J. A. Sullivan, A. P. Conniff and P. F. Doyle, depended entirely upon the constitutional aspect of the question. The judges were: Mr. C. F. Carroll, Mr. C. F. Aldrich, and Judge W. I. Forbes, all of Worcester.
