JUNIORS DEFEAT SENIORS.

1902 Wins First Class Football Game by Superior Team Play.--Score 10 to 0.

The Juniors defeated the Seniors in the first game of the class football series yesterday afternoon by a score of 10 to 0. The Juniors were superior both on the offense and on the defense, and prevented any systematic gaining on the part of the Seniors, while they themselves, by a tackles-back formation, were able to gain almost at will. The Seniors were placed at a disadvantage by the loss of their regular fullback, Jackson, who was injured in practice.

The Seniors kicked off in the first half and the Juniors carried the ball to the middle of the field by steady rushing. Here Russe made a forty-five yard run around right end, and the Juniors quickly pushed over for a touchdown. Chase fumbled the punt out.

Soon after the kick-off the Juniors got the ball on a fumbled punt, but Lovering failed on a trial for a goal from the field. The rest of the half the ball was kept near the middle of the field.

The Juniors kicked off in the second half, and immediately forced the Seniors to punt. Noyes caught the ball in the centre of the field and ran it back forty-five yards. The Juniors, using the tackles-back formation, gained the touchdown in spite of a strong resistance by the Seniors. Chase missed the goal. The rest of the play was almost wholly in the Juniors' territory, and the game ended with the ball in the Juniors' possession.
