S. I. Kuwana, assistant in the Entomology department of Stanford University, California, has just returned from a trip to Japan, his native country, where he has been pursuing successful researches in economic entomology. He has found six varieties of insects, all of which prey upon and eradicate the San Jose scale, America's most dangerous fruit pest.
Professor Ladd, head of the department of psychology and philosophy at Yale, has just returned to New Haven from a tour of fifteen months around the world. He delivered a series of lectures in the Japanese universities at the invitation of the government, and during his stay in Japan was entertained as the guest of the imperial government. He also lectured in the University of Bombay, where he was the first foreigner who has ever been invited to speak.
