An important conference will be held under the auspices of the Student Volunteer Committee, in the Phillips Brooks House, on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 8 p. m. The subject will be: "Friendly Visiting among the Poor." Well known philanthropic workers will explain the subject in a practical way, and by personal details. Among the speakers will be Miss Z. D. Smith, general secretary of the Associated Charities of Boston; Miss Mary L. Birtwell, general secretary of the Cambridge Associated Charities; Mr. Stephen P. Cabot, visitor for the Boston Associated Charities; and several student workers. An opportunity will be given for questions and discussion.
The conference is open to members of the University.
