At the meeting of the Freshman Debating Club held last night the debate was decided in favor of the affirmative, supported by G. W. South, G. O. Suppes and P. B. Olney, E. H. Letchworth '02 criticised the speakers.
The question for the next debate, on January 8, is: "Resolved, That the product of prison labor should not be allowed to compete in the open market." Affirmative--H. W. Hahn, E. F. Mann, W. M. Angle. Negative--A. Black, A. King, R. A. Dean.
The question for January 15 is: "Resolved, That a limited monarchy, such as Great Britain, is preferable to a republican form of government such as the United States." Affirmative -- F. C. Keffer, C. Loring, E. L. Lane. Negative--D. A. Baldwin, W. S. Archibald, A. H. Weed.
