The quarter mile handicap race, for the cup offered by S. Gannett Wells '86, was won Saturday afternoon by H. H. Fish '99. The time was 50 3-5s. and the conditions were excellent.
Fish won by a pretty spuit on the home stretch. Bremer finished strongly a yard behind Fish. He was forced to slow up on the final turn and was consequently late in beginning his spurt. S. H. Bush 1901 was a close third.
