The College nine defeated the Technology team on Soldiers Field yesterday by a score of 8-0. The College nine made but two errors, one of which was excusable, and played the best game it has played this season.
Both pitchers were remarkably effective, only one base on balls being given in the entire game. Seven hits were made off Wood, and nine off J. Galbraith.
The Technology team came nearest to scoring in the second inning, when with one man out, they made three hits in succession. Crowell was put out at the plate and then Keyes knocked a short grounder to pitcher, who fielded to first and retired the side.
The features of the game were a home run by Sears, and the playing of Slade and of Wood, who made two two-base hits and a single.
The batteries were J. Galbraith and Slade, and Wood and Morse and Woodward.
