E. R. Knapp, Jr., '95, was drowned Thursday afternoon at Riverside. No one was near at the time of the upset, and in his efforts to save his fiance with whom he was canoeing he became so exhausted that he sank just as help arrived. The body was recovered.
Eugene Knapp was twenty-four years old. He prepared at Hopkinson School where he played on his championship eleven, and entered college with the class of '95, of which he was a prominent member. While in college he sang on the Glee Club and played on his class eleven and was a member of the Institute and Hasty Pudding.
After graduating from college, he entered the real estate business in Brookline.
