From October to May '97-'98, 3741 volumes were added to the library in Gore Hall. Last year 5345 volumes were added during the same time.
Commencement week at Yale, this year, will extend from Friday, June 3, to Wednesday, June 8, inclusive. The Baccalaureate sermon will be preached on Sunday, June 5, and Monday following will be Class Day.
During the summer a few improvements are to be made in Boylston Hall, the chemical laboratory. A large highstudded room which is now being used as a store-room for chemical apparatus, will be divided into two stories. The upper will be used to store the apparatus, now stored below, while the lower floor will be divided into two small rooms, one to be used as a lecture room, the one to be used as a lecture room, the other as an office for Professor Hill, the director of the Chemical Laboratory.
