Too much credit can not be given to Captain Bigelow and the members of the track team for their decisive victory over Yale, a victory all the sweeter because in doubt until the last event.

One thing was evident on Saturday, that the Harvard team were one and all tuned up to the highest pitch of excellence. After the experience of a year ago this is especially gratifying, and bears witness to careful and intelligent training. Not only is the conservative policy adopted this year at the outset in regard to competition in indoor meetings now justified, but the measure of giving a lay off at the beginning of the outdoor season, proved a wise one. Further ground for congratulation is Harvard's good showing in the field events, where points were gained which made the difference between defeat and victory.

The thanks of the University are due to those who with Captain Bigelow instituted these changes for the better, and by their means, and by the exceptional devleopment of new material, have won a success which seemed at the beginning of the season hardly to be hoped for.
