Yesterday afternoon the first '98 crew on their return from the Lower Basin ran into a flat just above the Longwood Bridge. The barge was slightly damaged, and the men had to tow it ashore swimming. The order of the crew was as follows the three bow men being changed about the middle of the practice: Stroke, Dobyns; 7, Bancroft; 6, Perkins; 5, Goodrich; 4, Cabot; 3, Wadsworth, Riggs; 2, Moulton, Marvin; bow, H. Adams, Dubois.
The squad was yesterday cut down to twenty men, which is now made of the following men besides those already mentioned: Kinnicutt, Richards, Bull, Wood, Barnes, Sheafe, Flershem, Rice and Robinson.
