The Harvard team which is to compete in the fifth annual intercollegiate fencing tournament at the Racquet and Tennis Club, New York, has been chosen as follows: M. D. de Diaz '99, M. Green 2 L., and F. W. Palfrey '98. The tournament will be on April 1 and 2, although these dates conflict with those of the junior invitation tournament, given by the New York Fencing Club. Harvard will enter in the junior competition, the team being A. B. Lapsley '99, G. H. Breed '98 and H. Clapp '99.
Columbia, Annapolis and Cornell will enter the intercollegiate tournament, Cornell for the first time. The tournament rules of the intercollegiate association, unlike those of the American Fencer's League, score by bouts won and not by points made.
Mr. Thompson of New York, a graduate of Annapolis, who has for the last two years given a gold medal for the best individual score, will probably repeat his offer this year.
