The communication of this morning is expressive of a very general feeling that during the last term members of the graduating class should in some manner be designated as such. Last year this same feeling was expressed in mass meeting by the class of '97 when it was decided to wear caps and gowns after the spring recess. This custom was found so inconvenient, however, that when the time came men soon got tired of conforming to it, and for this reason the '98 Class Day Committee decided that it would not be worth while to raise the question again this year.
The suggestion that wearing caps alone would answer the purpose is a good one, and is sure to meet with approval. There would be no inconvenience entailed, and it would, as the writer says, put every Senior for once in the position of being able to recognize all his class mates. If an order requiring caps to be furnished by the first of May is to be substituted for the present order, an immediate step is necessary, and therefore a meeting of the Senior class should be called as soon as possible to take action on the proposal.
