The last number of the Illustrated American publishes a photograph of Marshall Newell '94, with a short obituary notice. The notice speaks appreciatively of Newell's character and college record.
W. Bourke Cockran will deliver an address on "Christianity the Light to Economic Truth," Friday evening, Jan. 21, at 8 o'clock, in Sanders Theatre. The lecture is to be given under the auspices of the Harvard Catholic Club.
The candidates for the Cornell freshman crew and all new candidates for the 'varsity crew were called out yesterday and will begin work on the machines immediately. The men who rowed last year will not be called until later.
The following men have been picked as the most promising candidates for the water polo team: R. S. Goodrich '98, W. B. Newlin 1901, S. S. Beardsley '99, P. H. Moore 1901, R. R. Rumery '99, E. M. Mayer 1900, R. H. McNaught 1900, F. H. Newhall 1901, P Pope 1901. Last evening practice was held in the Brookline tank and on Monday evening another practice game will be played with the B. A. A. team.
