In another column is announced the establishment of a fund to provide the University with an annual series of lectures by a French man-of-letters. This extremely generous action on the part of the Senior who has established the fund is sure to be appreciated at Harvard and by the graduates. Nothing is more in keeping with the broadening purposes of a university than a project which will bring to the instructors and students the influences of foreign culture. A yearly visit from an illustrious French scholar, who is to speak to us in good French and from a fresh point of view, will be a valuable supplement to the work of the French Department.
