first two sets Ward clearly out-played Ware, winning both rather easily, but the third Ware won, 6-4, by excellent lobbing and quick returns. In the last set Ward still forced the game but Ware played up to his old standard, making some brilliant drives down the side lines. In the last and deciding game Ware rallied, but a drive into the net and Ward's hard returns won the set, 8-6.
