The Crews.

[Special dispatch to the CRIMSON.]

POUGHKEEPSIE, N. Y., June 15.- This morning the Freshmen went out, first coached by Mr. Storrow, who will take complete charge of them from this time on, as Mr. Lehmann feels that his time must be devoted entirely to the 'Varsity until the race. The 'Varsity followed a little later, and, after the practice, Mr. Lehmann and several of the crew, lunched with the Beard brothers, old Yale rowing men now resident in Poughkeepsie.

In the afternoon both crews rowed in spite of the rain which set in. The Freshmen went out at 4.30, paddling until 6, Brown rowing 2 in place of Fitzgerald, who is laid up with a slight cold. The 'Varsity paddled short and steady stretches, practiced starts, and finished their work by rowing a mile on time. Both crews rowed fairly.

Robert Shaw Minturn '84 watched the practice from the launch and afterwards dined at the quarters.
