The broad and active plan of work which has been followed out during the past year by the Christian Association has made it more effective and far-reaching in its results than ever before. The practical missionary work carried on by the Association in Boston, and the measures taken to give information and assistance to new students at the beginning of the year are of especial importance and value, to the members as well as to the objects of their interest, and are every year getting to be a more necessary part of the University life. The creation of the office of General Secretary is amply justified by the natural growth in the Association's sphere of work; with such an official to give the greater part of his attention to the affairs of the organization there is every reason to believe that it can extend its influence and actual work considerably next year on the same general lines as laid down in the past.
