On account of the bad weather, only one match was played in the tennis tournament yesterday afternoon. J. F. Brice '99, defeated C. G. Stevens, Gr., in a very close three set match. Brice played well at the net, and by his superior steadiness won the third set. The score of the match was as follows:
J. F. Brice '99, beat C. G. Stevens, Gr., 6-4, 7-9, 6-1.
The following is the schedule for today's matches:
T. Field '97, vs. R. A. Bidwell '99, at 3.30.
H. H. Shaw '99, vs. winner of Field-Bidwell match at 4.30.
H. M. Hall '99, vs. H. Ward 1900, at 3.00.
R. McKittrick '99, vs. S. Pierce '98, at 2.30.
F. H. Small, Gr., vs. winner of McKittrick-Pierce match at 4.00.
At a meeting of the Lawn Tennis Association last evening, it was voted that Pennsylvania's offer of a new cup, to be contested for at the intercollegiate tournaments, should be accepted. As before announced, the condition which the University of Pennsylvania attached to their offer is that the annual tournament be held in Philadelphia instead of in New Haven.
