The Weld crews deserve a word of commendation just now for the activity displayed in preparing for the Metropolitan regatta. After putting four creditable class crews into the class races, these three eights are to be trained for the coming regatta together with four oars and singles. Largely as a result of the unusual interest taken in rowing this year because of Mr. Lehmann's coming to Cambridge, and partly because of the energy of the management the club has this year done more than ever before. The chief drawback from the beginning of the season has been a lack of good coaching for all the different crews. It is now too late in the season to introduce any new system of coaching into the Weld Boat Club; but, as the regular class crews have now finished their season, their members could be of considerable help to the Weld crews for the rest of the season, and any such assistance would be fully appreciated.
