The Seniors defeated the Juniors yesterday in their first game of the class championship series by the score of 11 to 4. The game was loosely played on both sides and was decidedly lacking in interest. There were no brilliant plays and errors were frequent on both sides. The Seniors outbatted their opponents and their hits were more opportune.
Ninety-seven scored two runs in the first inning on hits by Harris and Adams, who were brought in by Scott's two base hit. Ninety-eight tied the score in the third. Abbott made a hit, stole two bases and came in on Abrams's fly out to Kernan. Pierpont got his base on balls and Davis brought him in with a two-base hit. Ninety-seven scored again in this inning on Warren's two-base hit and an error by Abrams. In Ninety-seven's half of the fourth, hits by Hallowell and Dunlop, errors by Kimball and Pilling, and a base on balls netted four runs. In the fifth Scott got first on four balls. Pilling threw Dunlop's grounder to second, putting out Scott, and Dunlop reached first safely. Kernan knocked a pop fly, which Davis missed, and both men scored on Field's three-bagger. Ninety-eight scored one run in the eighth. Pierpont got a hit and was caught out at second on Davis' grounder to Adams. Davis was brought in by Ingraham's two-bagger. Ninety-seven scored twice in this inning. Field reached first on Abrams' error and stole second and third. Warren got first on balls and Harris knocked a two-bagger, bringing in two runs. In the ninth, Kimball hit to left, got second on Kernan 's failure to stop the ball, and stole third. Pierpont brought him in with a hit.
