The Junior Nine deserves the warmest congratulations of the class for the good showing made against Yale yesterday afternoon, for by their victory the members of the team have made Ninety-eight's record in intercollegiate athletics the best of any Harvard class for several years. It was the kind of a game which gives real satisfaction in the winning; both teams played a quick, sharp game, taking advantage of each other's weak points, and both showed plenty of pluck and steadiness at critical times, especially the Harvard team in the last three innings. In this connection it seems worth while to note the generally good effect on Harvard's play caused by the fairly good cheering. It is simply another instance of the improvement which is always brought about in a team's work by the aid of the hearty encouragement of the spectators.
Altogether the game was creditable to both teams and a pleasant renewal of Harvard-Yale athletics in Cambridge.
