Weld Crews.

The work of the Weld crews has been progressing favorably for some time past and the first eights of each class are rowing daily in barges. It is not likely that many further changes in their make-up will occur, unless it is to give place to more of the class crew men.

As a whole the men are rowing in fair form, with a rather long and powerful stroke. The blade work, however, is ragged, and the stroke lacks dash. The crews are evenly matched, and it is probable that the race will be close and interesting. The crews rowed yesterday as follows:

'97-Stroke, Nichols; 7, Strauss; 6, Taylor; 5, Morrill; 4, Corwin; 3, James; 2, Ross; bow, Knoblauch.

'98-Stroke, McBurney; 7, Butler; 6, Millard; 5, Dubois; 4, Richards; 3, Bancroft; 2, Flershem; bow, Robinson.

'99-Stroke, Davis; 7, Dinsmore; 6, Garrett; 5, Coleman; 4, Conroy; 3, Bigelow, Simonds; 2, Blaikie; bow, Stoddard, Watson.
