College Nine.

During the recess the College nine started off its season's work with a rush, winning the first five games, scheduled against Andover, Groton, Bates College, Tufts and Worcester Tech, in the order named.

The team is strong in fielding, especially in the outfield, where Morse '99 and Sears '99 have done good work. At the bat, however, the men are all weak. The pitching has been uniformly good. Fitz, of the 'Varsity squad, pitched against Andover and allowed only one scratch hit.

The other positions have been filled as follows in most games: c., Slade, 1b., Foster; 2b., Vincent; s. s., Holt; 3b., Litchfield; l. f., Sears; c. f., Morse; r. f., Galbraith. Dayton and McVey are the regular subs., and Morton, Haskell, Sterling and Manning have also played. McVey made a brilliant stop of a grounder over second, in the Tufts game, but turned his ankle and has not been able to play since.
