A second trial debate, to choose a Freshman team to speak against the Sophomore members of the Union took place Wednesday, but owing to lack of space, was not noticed in yesterday's CRIMSON.
The twenty men chosen at the first debate again competed. The speaking as a whole was very creditable and was a distinct improvement over that of the first trial. Most of the men spoke directly and forcibly at their audience; and many of them overcame the tendency to cover too much ground.
The judges chose the following ten men to speak at the final trial debate: R. C. Bolling, R. D. Crane, W. P. Eaton, W. R. Evans, R. S. Holland, A. W. Hollis, J. E. McCloskey, J. A. Richards, S. B. Southworth, F. H. Stevens.
