The University baseball schedule which appears today provides for about the same number of games as that of last year, but they are spread over a longer period, and will thus give the nine more time in which to practice and rest after the hard games. This arrangement will be of especial benefit in the latter part of May and in June when the games with the strongest teams are being played. Last year there were almost always three games a week during this time; this year there will not, on the average, be more than two games a week. There are some professional teams to be played this year as there were last year; but what few games there are of this kind come at the very beginning of the season, and, as they are really nothing but practice games, no one can seriously object to them.
