It is reported that Bellamy Storer '67 has accepted the position of Assistant Secretary of State.

At a meeting of the Freshman Banjo Club last night C. M. Brown was elected president, A. G. Mason, secretary and treasurer, and R. G. Pratt, leader.

J. H. Highlands '93, the old Harvard pitcher, has been appointed general superintendent of the Hudson River Telephone Company.

The 'Varsity crew rowed in a barge yesterday afternoon for the first time this year. New oars were used, which arrived from England yesterday morning.

E. N. Wrightington '97 has joined the crew. He has been rowing in the tank for some time past, under Captain Goodrich's coaching. Wrightington rowed bow on the '95 'Varsity crew.

Dr. George A. Gordon of the New Old South Church, has accepted the invitation of the Class Cay Committee to preach the Baccalaureate sermon. Professor Peabody will be the Class Day Chaplain.

An inaccurate list of games purporting to be the Harvard baseball schedule has recently been circulated. The schedule is not complete as yet, and will not be announced until approved by the Athletic Committee.

The Department of Geology has made arrangements so that any student who wishes to receive help in preparing for professions connected with geology may register with any officer of the Department he may choose. Such students will be invited to consult the officer with whom they register from time to time and will be assisted by him in their work.

The prospects for the bicycle team are bright this year. All of last year's team, with the exception of one man, are in College. The Charles River track will be opened April 1 for regular track practice and road work will be begun as soon as the weather permits. Picked teams will be entered in road races from time to time. A. B. Rich and F. S. Elliot L. S., will do most of the coaching.
