The Yale barge was upset yesterday for the second time this season, and the crew had to swim ashore, pulling the barge after them.
At a meeting of the Chess Club held in 25 Grays last evening the following officers were elected: President, F. E. Thayer '99; vice-president, H. C. Ffloulke '98; secretary, W. C. Arensberg 1900; treasurer, P. W. Long '98.
The old '95 'Varsity barge which Davy has been overhauling for the Freshman crew is now ready for use. As it was expected that it would not be done until tomorrow it is, however, doubtful whether the crew use her today.
Governor Roger Wolcott will preside at the Harvard-Yale debate Two of the judges will be Professor Davis R. Dewey of Technology and Professor Franklin H. Giddings of Columbia. Judge E. A. Aldrich of the U. S. Circuit court has provisionally accepted an invitation to act as third judge.
